About Visual Connections
Visual Connections (formerly Picturehouse Marketing US) is all about connecting you to suppliers of stock and commissioned imagery, and other visual media.
We run annual trade fairs in New York and Chicago, where you can meet image suppliers, learn about industry trends at our seminars and sessions, and network with peers. Entry is free but restricted to professional media buyers and researchers. To make your time out of the office as enjoyable as possible, we choose inspiring venues, provide free quality food and beverages throughout the day, including wine and beer after 5pm, and we run a prize drawing for everyone who attends. Prizes have in the past included computers, iPods, digital cameras, and spa vouchers.
We also run an international online directory of visual media suppliers, which is free to search.
Visual Connections (formerly Picturehouse Marketing US) is owned and run by two leading professionals in the stock image industry:
Deborah Free has 21 years of experience in developing and marketing stock agencies, as President of Natural Selection until 1998, long-term consultant to StockFood, and organizer of industry events in New York, Chicago and San Francisco since 2003.
Edward Leigh has 18 years of experience of IT in the stock photo industry, as Research & Development Manager at Getty Images until 1996, and as a technical consultant to many agencies starting up or making the transition to the digital age.
Together with Jerry Tavin and Janou Pakter, they founded the Young Photographers Alliance in 2009 to inspire, nurture and promote the next generation of image makers.
Visual Connections LLC was originally incorporated as Picturehouse Marketing US, LLC after acquiring exclusive rights from Michael Brown of picturehouse marketing ltd (UK) to hold events in North America using the Picturehouse name. Visual Connections® and Image Sources are both trading names of Visual Connections LLC. Visual Connections LLC is registered in Genesee County, New York, USA.
picturehouse marketing ltd is a separate company, registered in the UK and directed by Michael Brown, who owns the picturehouse name and trademark. The company was started in 2001 and has run events in countries around the world.
We are returning to Chicago on April 24, 2014 with a one-day expo and program of sessions at The Ivy Room.
The date for our next New York event, at the Altman Building, is Wednesday, October 22.

The Bridgeman Art Library is proud to announce that its founder and Chairman, Harriet Bridgeman, has been appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to the arts.
Already the world’s largest marketing event devoted to commercial licensing of visual media, Visual Connections New York drew more buyers and exhibitors this year than in 2012.
After four successful years, Jerry Tavin, the current President, will step down, to be succeeded by Bob Hendriks, founder and manager of In Transit Images.
